Known to the world for leading Graham Parker and the Rumour, which formed in 1975 and had worldwide success through 1980, Parker gave himself a new lease on creative life as a solo artist. In 2000, Parker took the next step in his inspired quest and released a collection of short fiction stories called Carp Fishing on Valium, which was soon followed by songs to accompany it and a new kind of concert tour was born. Since then, he hasn’t stopped pressing the boundaries, releasing novels (one illustrated science fiction, one surreal and comedic) and albums to this day. Most recently, in April of 2010, he released Imaginary Television, a critically acclaimed album of songs for TV shows that do not exist.
“Early and late, the real core of Parker’s greatness has been his amazing melodic gift and his ability to make his songs really mean something.” – PopMatters.com
“Adept at sharp lyrics, a wicked wit and a keen sense of how to wed it to visceral rock and roll.” -PopDose.com
