WHAT IS BUILD THE LOFT CAMPAIGN?

This campaign is all about finishing the last major project on the FTC Campus.

WHAT IS THE LOFT?

The Loft is a 3,000 square foot room that has been unused for decades. It’s located above the backstage green rooms, dressing rooms, and offices. Have you ever noticed that dilapidated footbridge on Unquawa Road? That eyesore actually leads right in to The Loft!

WHY ARE WE BUILDING THE LOFT?

With the 2015 addition of The Warehouse, FTC now produces over 400 events a year between the two venues. There are often productions in both The Warehouse and StageOne simultaneously and spacial limitations became apparent immediately.

While there is plenty of room in the venues, we've exhausted efforts to make everyone comfortable backstage. There are 2 dressing rooms, 2 offices, a laundry room, and a 450 sq. ft. common area. The dressing rooms double as rehearsal spaces for our Saturday Morning KEYS music education program and the offices double as production HQ and crew/artist overflow. Not only that, but the laundry room also doubles as a dressing room and on any given night we can have upwards of 50 people milling around in the confined and chaotic space.

So, why do we need to build The Loft?

1) With productions in both The Warehouse and StageOne we need more backstage space to accommodate everyone.

2) We need rehearsal space for our current education programs.

3) Increase in the amount of events = more staff = more office space needed to accommodate everyone.

What projects are involved with The Loft?

  • We will build 5 music classrooms and rehearsal rooms.
  • Build a recording studio.
  • Create new music education programs.
  • Build dedicated green rooms and kitchen areas for each venue.
  • Increase the amount of offices and move them out of the backstage and green room area.
  • Repair the eyesore footbridge on Unquawa Road, creating direct access to the music classroom/rehearsal rooms, easily connecting the community to the FTC Campus.
