Some rebellions never die. The classic 1950's sound of youth in revolt is alive with the Cherry Poppin Daddies. Beginning their career as a ska punk band, this octet have expanded their sound to include Big Band, Swing, and Rockabilly. In 1997 they hit it big with Zoot Suit Riot, entering the forefront of the new swing movement with bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Their latest record, White Teeth Black Thoughts is a double album - half swing, and half Rockabilly/Bluegrass/Rhythm & Blues - proving once again that the Cherry Poppin Daddies are multi genre masters. Their eclectic and their wild stage presence have made them the stuff of cult legend, being hailed as "punk swing," "Cab Calloway meets Johnny Rotton." This winter they're ready to rumble yet again. CPD are coming to FTC and bringing all of their literal and figurative brass.
