Today she is a titan of the folk world, esteemed alongside Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, Pete Seeger, and more. Her effect has been wide ranging and profound, bringing many now prominent artists like Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, to attention. She even put the Judy in Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.

Judy Collins has also made important political and social contributions, including her friendship with Yippie’s Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, her testimonial on the behalf of the Chicago Seven, and her campaigning against landmine use with UNICEF.
