Inspired by a trip to swinging London, The Remains formed in 1964. Along with groups like The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Byrds, The Remains were a strong American response to the sounds of The British Invasion. Their 1966 self titled album is a garagey tour de force, wending it’s way through classic psychedelia, soul, and vintage fuzz. With the success of their fourth single, Don’t Look Back, The Remains hit a new level, playing high profile shows up and down the East Coast including an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, and an opening spot for The Beatles on their final US tour. The Remains went on to cult success, and in 2002, thirty six years after the release of their first record, the band recorded Movin’ On. Movin’ On shows a more mature Remains, but with no exuberance lost. The passion and soul have stayed with The Remains and their music as they’ve branched off into new territory. Movin’ On has touches of Country and Rockabilly slap-back, but the fun ethic of Garage Rock pervades each and every track. The VIP ticket includes a signed poster of The Remains.
