Singer-songwriter Amy Helm is the daughter of legendary drummer Levon Helm. She grew up in Woodstock, New York, with a front-row seat to music history. Long a collaborator, she's broken out on her own in recent years with her third solo album, “What the Flood Leaves Behind,” released in June.
Helm wields a powerful voice that can both stir and soothe, whether she is singing traditional gospel, blues standards, or her own heartfelt compositions. She is a gifted musician on both mandolin and drums and has clearly absorbed the lessons of the many other accomplished artists with whom she has shared stages, including Mavis Staples, Emmylou Harris, and Joan Osborne.
"The album has a great vibe that falls on the folky side of Americana, but isn’t afraid to get funky. If you’re already an Amy Helm fan, What the Flood Leaves Behind is everything you’ve come to love about her music. And if you’re new to her work, this Helm at her best." – Lyric Magazine
