Tommy Castro, the guitarist/singer/songwriter, sings like the best of bluesmen and has that old soul stage presence you crave. He’s graced our stage with guitarist Johnny A in the past, but this time he’s here to stretch out and really show you what he’s made of. As the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says, “It’s fine enough that he works his guitar with power and passion, but when you add in the sax (Keith Crossan), trumpet (Tom Poole) and keyboards (Tony Stead), the band is smart and sharp.” After the critical and fan-based success of album Hard Believer, he released a live compilation album, The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue, based on star-studded blues jam sessions. The disc, like each show they played, comes with raw performances and an insanely rare lineup: Rick Estrin, Janiva Magness, Michael “Iron Man” Burks, Debbie Davies, Theodis Ealey, Sista Monica Parker, Joe Louis Walker and Trampled Under Foot. Castro’s versatility in performing has brought him to the top, known to the world as leader of the aforementioned group of blues artists. He works the fret board with passion, sings his soul out and he’s bringing the Gospel-flavored roadhouse blues to StageOne. Concert Tickets $35
