More On This Event

Mary Page Marlowe leads an unremarkable life. As an accountant in Ohio with two children, few would expect her life to be inordinately intricate or moving. However, it is choices, both mundane and gripping, and where those choices have taken Mary Page Marlowe that make her life so intimate and surprisingly complicated. This is a play about the fragility of a moment and its effects on one’s identity.

Description
Study Up

We are excited to announce the launch of our brand new Summer Theatre Reading Series!

Each season we will present readings of 3-4 plays by a renowned playwright. Our performers will include a combination of Broadway actors and local favorites. The plays will explore the depth and breadth of the playwright’s body of work, and they will be performed at a first-class level. There is no substitute for live theatre!

This season, we feature works by one of America’s greatest living playwrights, not to mention one of its finest actors, the amazing Tracy Letts. Mr. Letts has written over 10 plays that have been performed on his home turf, Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, as well as Off-Broadway, and Broadway. They’ve been adapted to films and a TV series, and productions have been mounted around the world. While it was incredibly difficult to narrow down the plays of Mr. Letts that we’d like to present at FTC this summer, we believe the following 4 will showcase his incredible range of humor and pathos, high-minded purpose and low-minded grit, and, always, indelible characters and unforgettable stories. We hope you will check us out this summer and support live theatre in the heart of downtown Fairfield!
