Study Up

Morningside is an indie folk-rock band from Westport, Connecticut, formed by longtime friends Bobby Schlesinger (vocals), Matt Stine (guitar), Nick Huber (bass), and Sean Spillman (keys), with Ian Walters joining on drums in early 2024.

Built on a shared devotion to storytelling, Morningside’s songs live in the quiet space between reflection and release. Their writing favors emotional clarity over spectacle — intimate, searching lyrics carried by warm guitars, drifting keys, and the slow-burn pull of the coastal New England town that shaped them. The result is a sound that feels lived-in and restless, grounded in folk tradition yet unafraid to swell into something larger.

Recognized as one of Connecticut’s Top 12 Rising Bands for 2025 by 98.7 WNLC, Big 110.9, 97.7 WCTY and i98.3, Morningside has already surpassed 100,000 streams across their releases. Their debut album, Answers, arrives February 6, 2026 via Pilot Light Records in association with Virgin Music Group, offering a collection centered on relationship dynamics, family, grief, and self-exploration, that resonates long after the last note.

Canyon, born and raised in Northern California and now based in Westport, CT, is a singer-songwriter making modern indie pop with emotional clarity and melodies that stay with you. Her songs begin in a quiet, intimate place, then unfold into textured, cinematic moments where vulnerability feels like strength. Working with producer Rob Griffith (Bronze Radio Return), she’s building toward her upcoming album Just Wait, following singles like Bruised EgoVictoriousThis Too Shall Pass, and Blah Blah Blah. Recently nominated for the 2025 New England Music Award for Best Pop Act, Canyon creates music that feels suspended in time, deeply human, and unafraid to tell the truth.
