Study Up

The Alpaca Gnomes are a spirited seven-piece rock-folk jam band based in Bridgeport, CT. Incorporating violin and saxophone into their songs along with both acoustic and electric guitars, bass, and drums, the band’s dynamic yet earthy sound offers both respite and revelry for all who listen. Voted by the readers of CT magazine as the best CT Band (2022), the band blends its hooky and lyrically thoughtful original songs with classic covers done in their own way.

The unique brand of original stomp and groove music the Alpaca Gnomes offer has allowed them to be integral part of a variety of festivals and concert series throughout CT and beyond.

Nowhere is The Alpaca Gnomes’s impact more obvious than in the community they have cultivated. A loyal and enthusiastic group of fans known as “Gnomies” can be found at many of their live shows joining in the fun by wearing the band’s signature Gnome style hats while singing and dancing along to their beloved favorites.

They have sold out venues in CT such as Fairfield Theatre Company Warehouse, FTC Stage One, Park City Music Hall and The Acoustic. The unique brand of original stomp and groove music the Alpaca Gnomes offer has allowed them to be integral part of a variety of festivals including Pleasantville (NY), Jerry Jam (NH) Conserfest (RI) CT Folk Fest(New Haven), Two Roads Road Jam, Blues on the Beach, Soupstock, Downtown Sounds and more. They have performed in locations from California to Nantucket as well as Block Island and all of New England and the tri met area. Always open for having folks sit in, they’ve had this pleasure with Mihali (Twiddle), Ed Mann (RIP) who performed for many years w/ Frank Zappa and Railroad Earth members Tim Carbone & Andy Goessling (RIP) as well as a host of other talented musicians over their 14 years as a band.
