Led by Dweezil, son of the legendary Frank Zappa, this is a music project bringing back to life on stage the eclectic repertoire of one of the most influential artists of his generation. Dweezil, a forty-something guitar prodigy, first made his mark as a studio musician and solo performer before starting a world tour in 2006 in tribute to his father, accompanied by a band made up of talented young musicians from all over the world. Zappa Plays Zappa, with a son revisiting a father’s prolific artistic legacy, won a Grammy Award in 2009. While the group’s goal is to reveal Frank Zappa’s musical genius to younger generations, it in fact showcases the talent of Dweezil Zappa, an exceptional guitarist who has developed his own personal style, albeit with a certain family resemblance.
