San Fermin is the product of an intense bout of creativity from composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone. Conceived in seclusion on the border between Alberta and British Columbia, San Fermin the record is a sprawling Baroque Pop gem influenced by his background in classical music and his work with renowned composer Nico Muhly (Sufjan Stevens, Bjork, Grizzly Bear). Ludwig-Leone's cinematic compositions skillfully tug at you with a deft sense of dynamic tension and resolution. Says Ludwig-Leone, "I realized that the most intense moments are the ones in which conflicting emotional worlds exist inside you, equally, at once." San Fermin the band is a cast of today's brightest young musicians; with vocals imagined by Allen Tate, and Lucius' Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. In performance, they are a touring troupe comprised of Ellis Ludwig-Leone, Allen Tate, Charlene Kaye, Rebekah Durham, John Brandon, Stephen Chen, Tyler McDiarmid, and Mike Hanf.
