Description
Study Up

A visionary, genre-bending ensemble based out of the Nest Arts Factory in Bridgeport, CT. Conceived by Kris Studebaker and Nicholas Yost, Pangea boldly explores the boundaries of music, blending diverse global influences into a captivating, body-enveloping groove. As an ensemble, Pangea paints enigmatic psychedelic strokes over a cosmic backdrop of modern and ancient rhythms, creating a colorful, perpetually-kinetic sonic spiral.

Renowned for their remarkable versatility and adaptability, Pangea's members draw from a vast multiverse of musical and visually artistic inspirations to craft their distinct signature sound. Blistering past common conventions Pangea, instead, diverges into a kaleidoscope of rich, vibrant tones and resonant vibrations. This collective of musicians includes: (drummer) Kris Studebaker, (conguero) Sam Mendez, (percussionist/vocalist) Will Diaz, (bassist) Mike Rachinsky, (guitarist) Jeff Wickun, (woodwinds) Georgios Giannios, and (keyboardist and musical director) Nicholas Yost.

The power trio The Nuclear Heartbreak, based out of Connecticut, is the high caliber product of guitarist and singer James Darling, drummer Gio Gomez and bassist Tim Robbins. The Nuclear Heartbreak released their self-titled debut album in August 2019.

The bands live shows are hailed as an “electric, crowd pleasing, party atmosphere,” riddled with songs that are “full bore sing-a-longs, the kind of singalongs you would grab a stranger to and together join in a triumphant chanting of the defiant lyrics.” The band is dripping with undertones of garage rock, folk, blues, and punk. The perfect combination to mesmerize the boisterous energy of any audience. The only way one could come close to describing The Nuclear Heartbreak's unique and dynamic sound would be if Weezer were to have a love child with the Alabama Shakes and that child was bottle fed “Reinventing Axl Rose” by Against Me!

Their sophomore album, "Misguided Youth" released on October 30, 2020. Their hit single “Hard Times” was featured on several radio stations including the notorious WFUV in NYC. Their most recent single “Take It” released in September 2023 and premiered on 95.9 The Fox, WFUV’s Fresh NY Slice, and 107.1 The Peak!

Born of a shared experience and deep love of reggae and dub, Markus Schwartz and Erik Rabasca formed the duo Trample Dragons in October 2024 to channel conscious and spiritual musical vibes for the people. The duo employs a multi-instrumental approach, featuring both acoustic and electronic instruments as well as loops and samples, leaving room for improvisation as they create their own unique brand of reggae, while paying tribute to roots reggae culture.

Markus Schwartz is a Grammy-nominated percussionist, recording artist & educator, specializing in the traditional drum music of Haiti. A life-long student of Vodou drumming, Markus has deep roots in the Haitian music community, and is a sought-after collaborator across musical genres. Markus has an extensive discography as a featured artist on more than 25 recordings to date, as well as four recordings as a leader; Tanbou nan Lakou Brooklyn (2008), Equinox (2011), Vo-Duo Nou La (w/ Monvelyno Alexis, 2013), and Kay Sa (2019). Markus has toured the globe as a performer, and has lectured and presented on Haitian music at Harvard University, The Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg, The American Museum of Natural History, and The Brooklyn Museum, among many other cultural and educational institutions.

Erik Rabasca (guitar/bass/vocals/dub) is a veteran of the early 2000s Brooklyn reggae scene. He toured nationally with the group Trumystic who collaborated and toured with the legendary Mad Professor. The group shared the stage with reggae greats Culture, Sugar Minott, Judy Mowatt, Grammy Winners SOJA and Easy Star All Stars. In the mid 2010s, he founded Highest Frequency Records and led the Connecticut-based band Light Warriors. When Markus joined in 2021, the band went to the next level opening for Jon Batiste at Stamford’s Alive@Five. In addition to multiple recording projects and side bands, Rabasca performs as a genre-blending acoustic artist. His solo debut is slated for 2025 release.
