Utica, NY’s Floodwood are anything but your typical string band. Featuring the combined talents of Woodenspoon's Jason Barady, Nick Piccininni, and Zachary Fleitz, and moe.'s Al Schnier and Vinnie Amico, Floodwood comes packaged with a pedigree and a penchant for improv.
Hailing from New York's “Leather-stocking Region,” the members of Floodwood are no strangers to the world of Bluegrass. Schnier and Amico have been touring with the Americana group Al & The Transamericans for over a decade, and Brady has put in a similar tenure with Wooden Spoon. Piccininni is self taught on fiddle and banjo, an organic talent weaned in picking circles, and Fleitz attended Berklee and gathered experience on the road with Hypnotic Clambake. Their collective talents give them the freedom to explore string music to its outer reaches.
