Renowned for bringing 1960s folk-rock music into the 70s and beyond, Aztec Two-Step continues to be one of the most respected and enduring acts in acoustic music.
Rex Fowler carries the Aztec Two-Step legacy forward into a new era following partner Neal Shulman’s retirement. Fowler's new ensemble performs Aztec fan favorites and forgotten gems - but takes it up a notch. Recapturing the multi-instrumental sound of the duo’s original studio recordings along with 2- and 3-part harmonies, Rex’s band banter and stage patter is still as warm, engaging, and funny as ever.
"Cult folk-rockers can still carry off their sweet, supple harmonies and bouncy acoustic pop with aplomb." — Billboard
Rex & Friends are pleased to donate a portion of their proceeds from this concert to benefit the acclaimed non-profit Connecticut Dance School (CDS) of Fairfield. Founded in 1970, CDS offers children’s and adult ballet classes, jazz, contemporary classes and an adaptive dance program for children with special needs called Dance 4All Abilities. Aztec Two-Step 2.0’s new band member Dodie Pettit is deeply connected with the school and has been on its board of directors for over ten years. She has been instrumental in fostering the services it provides for the Fairfield County community. www.ctdanceschool.org
