When world-class musician Mark Barden lost his young son Daniel in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, he also lost his passion for making music. But in the years since that unimaginable time Mark and his family have been on an incredible journey, one filled with inspiration, perseverance and, mostly, love. Mark is a co-founder of, and tireless activist for, Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), a national non-profit organization that has become a leader in devising and implementing strategies to prevent gun violence and stop the senseless loss of life, especially among children. Today, Mark has rediscovered the unique joy that only music can provide, and on Saturday, August 13 his journey brings him to the FTC Warehouse in a concert to support SHP. Mark will be joined by renowned band leader Jimmy Vivino, a vaunted house band and several very special guests, including Aztec Two-Step and Eric Donnelly of The Alternate Routes. All ticket sales will be donated to SHP. What’s more, the musical performances will be interspersed with compelling scenes from the in-process documentary film about Mark’s journey, entitled “A Father’s Promise,” and footage from the concert will be included in the completed film. The film will be released this December, in time to honor the 10-year remembrance of Sandy Hook. So please plan to join us on August 13 for a night of great music, uplifting stories, and the support of an essential organization in the prevention of gun violence. We promise that you will be inspired. Concert Tickets $45/ Reserved; $10 Livestream
